Ollie Hutton Gets The Lord John Russell Singing at The Flash Fundraiser
The live music kept coming at The Flash Radio charity gig at The Lord John Russell in Southsea, and next up was South Coast singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist @ollie hutton.
Ollie brought a really relaxed feel to the afternoon. Mixing his own songs with some very familiar favourites, he quickly had people joining in and helped get everyone properly into the spirit of the day.
There were a few Beatles songs thrown into the set too, which always goes down well. Before long there were plenty of voices around the room singing along.
Ollie is a singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist based on the South Coast. He has more than eight years of public performance experience and has played everything from intimate venues and weddings through to major UK festivals.
His set moved easily between his own material and well known songs, without ever losing the personal feel of the performance.
What stood out most was how comfortable Ollie looked with the crowd. It did not feel like someone simply working through a set list. He was enjoying the room, getting people involved and helping create exactly the sort of atmosphere a charity music afternoon needs.
It was also great to hear some of his own songs mixed into the performance. Events like this are a brilliant opportunity to discover local artists and hear the music they have written themselves, alongside the songs that immediately get everyone singing.
