SKADACIOUS AT THE CENTURION
Walking into The Centurion, it already felt like an evening with a bit of character. The place was fully dressed for Halloween, with decorations everywhere creating a brilliant atmosphere before the music had even started.
This was my first time seeing the duo and they instantly stood out. The lead singer has a fantastic voice and the saxophone brought that proper ska flavour, cutting through the room with a bright, punchy sound.
The guitar added another layer, while the backing was kept quite simple, more of a steady drum beat than a full backing track. That gave the whole performance a much more live and natural feel.
Plenty of rhythm, plenty of personality and that unmistakable ska bounce running through the set.
A really enjoyable duo to listen to and definitely one I will be looking out for again soon.
